Criminal Trespass

A person who enters or remains on another's property, without consent, has committed a criminal trespass. The property trespassed upon can be land, a residence, an office or a vehicle, including an aircraft. Criminal trespass offenses are typically categorized as misdemeanors. Some trespasses are less serious, such as boys jumping a ball field fence at night to play baseball. Students breaking into a school building are also committing a criminal trespass but could be charged with additional and more serious offenses, such as breaking and entering.
