Receipt of Stolen Goods
A crime is committed when a person knowingly takes possession of stolen goods from another. Knowledge is a required element of the crime. If you do not know that the property was stolen, you cannot be charged. For example, a pawnshop owner who knows he is being offered stolen goods to pawn and takes the items can be charged with the crime of receipt of stolen goods.
