Removal from the United States
What will jeopardize my green card?
You may be subject to removal if you fail to notify the USCIS of your change of address.
You can also lose your permanent residence (green card) status if you commit an act that makes you removable from the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act. This includes entering the country if you were in fact ineligible to do so; failing to comply with the terms of your visa; attempting to smuggle or smuggling other people into the United States; entering into a marriage under fraudulent terms to gain entry into the United States; committing a crime; being convicted of drug or weapons possession; falsifying immigration documents; claiming U.S. citizenship; and committing various activities that constitute security concerns or terrorist activities. If you commit such an act, you may be brought before the immigration courts to determine your right to remain a permanent resident.
