Sanctions

Parties who refuse to cooperate with the discovery process (and their attorneys) are subject to sanctions. Discovery rules permit the court to fine parties and their attorneys, refuse to allow certain evidence at trial and even dismiss the entire lawsuit if a party is uncooperative.
