Pay

The Equal Pay Act prohibits discrimination in pay to women performing substantially the same work as men at their place of employment. An equal pay wage claim applies to jobs occupied by both sexes, where the performance requires equal skill, effort and responsibility, accomplished under similar working conditions. If the jobs are sufficiently dissimilar, the court will dismiss the claim.
